Life as a Final Year Med Student!

Its been a long long long long long while since my last posting.
With the exams and the well deserved holidays back home in Malaysia & China who has the time?!?!

Well as you may noticed by now, I passed my exams and I am finally a T.I. (trainee intern). So what are the perks of being a T.I.?
1. Well firstly you have the grant which is around NZD 25,000 tax free.....so after using that to pay for the fees this year, it will be around NZD 11,000 tax free. BUT being "rich" international students, we aren't entitled to receive the grant and we have to pay 3 times the amount the ocals pay for the fees.
2. NO MORE EXAMS!!! *phew* but long cases, audits, mini CEX.....mainly bullshit assessments to help kill time.
3. It doesn't really matter if you have forgetten everything since the exam was over...... basically we just do secretarial work. Fax this and that, writing letters and write notes in the patient''s file.....free labour!!

Finally, I will be living in my own apartment! No more sharing facilities with strangers! The apartment is situated within the city centre and with the strip club just 200m away, I know I will be seeing some familiar faces!! Once all the paper work is settled, I will be able to move out of Grafton Hall this Sunday. We were told that they have to have as many rooms available to accommodate the other MALAYSIANS. Guess they will have to suffer a year here.

There have been sightings of Comet McNaught for the past week and its said to be brighter than Comet Halley. Hope to take some good shots of it tonight on Mt. Eden. Fingers-crossed.

Gluttony...

We all paid a price last night for the sin that we've committed.

We all had dinner at KK Restaurant down at Ellerslie where they're serving Malaysian buffet for $23(approx RM50). Trust Cheng Sim n Vic to bring us there for good food n good value.

Upon arrival to the place, it looked like an "open house" function back home....the smell of satay got us all excited. Unlike buffet back home, they have 2 different seating time - to avoid certain people who would stay the entire nite.

A lady brought us to the table and it was just next to the buffet counter, some started even before going to the table.

"Only $23 and so much food!!"

Thinking that we might have only 1.5 hours to eat before they chase us out and the kiasu-ism in the other people there made us stack up a few plates of food before we start feasting!

Its been awhile since we all had a good rendang....food was actually good until we hit "the stop"....cutleries slipping off the hand, staring blankly and leaning forward as that was the most comfortable position.....silence....those who were laughing soon faced with the same effect...

We sat there exchanging thoughts of how to burp....perhaps fart.....Kitc was theorizing a method of farting by thumping his ass to form a pocket of air closer to his rear n before he could finish....Cheng Sim burst out say ,'Ya ya ya that works...I did it before'

Before Zhi n Kit dugged into to their food, they were saying that they should return the following week and this is so damn good......but i guess not until next year boys?

Time to rant!!! grrrrr
